What makes a great LP record For me it has to show some stunning and consistent quality, or encapsulate a moment in. So many amazing albums covers from so many bands. Storm Thorgerson and Aubrey Powell let their imagination run wild back then. Each and every one of the photos on the cover just screams 1970s, yet the motifs have a strange 1950s feeling to them. And when I first saw it back in 1978, even then it had this particular kind of nostalgia to it.
